Got this one from hopsolutely this past summer
From a 500ml bottle into a pint glass
IBU: 45
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a two finger, medium looking, fizzy, foamy tan head with decent retention. Clear black body with no carbonation evident. Head fades to a full wisp. A ring remains until the end but leaves no real lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Burnt malts, leather, with some decent coconut and cream. A little milder than hoped.
TASTE: Burnt malts, leather and light notes of coconut up front. Some sweet cream too. Medium finish of cream, coconut, milky coffee, burnt notes and leather. Good stuff. Milder, but good.
PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. Creamy enough, goes down fine and finishes a bit dry. A touch foamy perhaps, but not bad.
OVERALL: This is a quality effort. A little too burnt perhaps, but the rest of the show is well done. The aromas and flavors could have been a little more forthcoming, but on the whole, this was an enjoyable beer worth checking out if you get the chance. Thanks again guys! Recommended.
