A sip of this Bold medium bodied brown ale will take you right back to the heyday of Buffalo. We wanted to mix the bittersweet flavors of chocolate with a host of nutty flavors, while capturing the elegant flavor of beer that made Buffalo the beer brewing capital it once was. My business associates and I are all in agreement that this brew did exactly that!

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on July 4, 2015.
The pour is a very dark brown to near black. I was impressed by that.
The aroma had a touch of sweet malts but a thin almost invisible hop character.
Light to medium body.
The taste was a little off and I don't know why. Maybe it was an older bottle. The malts tasted like cardboard and there was little in the way of nutty sweetness. No bitter ending.

A- low carb, thin tan head. Slightly too dark for brown ale
A- almost zero aroma. A slight bread or brown note
F- thin with an iron note. Not sweet. An iron/blood after taste.
MF- thin but properly dry. Clean finish
OA - lacks any depth. Granted the style requires a quaffing build but there is nothing special going on. The water or grain is giving off an iron note that is not pleasant.
