poured from bottle into cold english mug. huuuuuge frothy head, opaque hazy orange with a teaspoon of tan sediment. smells of malt, dark bread, and more malt. tastes similar with light hoppy notes and a bit of pumpernickelish spice. feels a little thin on the mouth. not a bad 6er for $8.99. kind of old school in a refreshing way. good job for a small brewery in little boerne, tx (near san antonio). i am imagining old german people enjoying this.

Undated bottle at 40 degrees into snifter
Aroma – caramel malt, little to no hops
Head large (seven cm, aggressive pour), off white, frothy, slooowly diminishing to irregular 1.5 – 2 cm frothy ring and layer
Lacing poor – multiple small islands of small to medium bubbles
Body medium orange, hazy
Flavor – caramel malt, more sour than bitter. So far, 50% of the six pack have tasted the same. Definitely not an IPA, more of an amber. No hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate medium, watery, lively carbonation – tends to foam over if not really cold.
Appearance 4, Aroma 2, Flavor 2, Palate 3.5, Overall 3

Don't know if I had a bad batch, but this was the worst IPA I have ever had. It tasted as if someone blended cigarette butts into it.
