From a growler , from the brewery, filled yesterday.

Translucent light orange-amber, with moderate, finely-textured creamy white head.

Smell is slightly doughy, lightly creamy, with a semi-sweet, slightly fruity vegetal aroma. I.e., it smells like a freshly-cut slice of carrot cake w/ cream cheese icing.

Taste is similar to aroma, but lighter, and less sweet. Slight tang towards finish , as the base beer comes through. ( "Just Bucket" - I've had it .) Moderate bitterness, that balances the sweetness. Lingering bread crust flavor after finish.

Feel is light, but not watery, with very, very fine carbonation bite, coming in late.

Overall, a nice fall take on cream ale. Don't expect a sweet dessert beer. It's a semi-dry cream ale, with some extras. Given the need to wait for the carrot harvest, it needs to be now, to be at its freshest best, but this would be quite refreshing on a hot summer day. One can wish, eh?

Edit, 7/03/21 : Wish granted : it's out now, in the heat of summer. Didn't change the ratings (maybe I should?), but it's even better on a warm/hot summer day. :)
