Pours clear, dark copper brown (SRM 22-24). Yeast was left in the bottle. A modest half-inch, light khaki head ranges from rocky to fine cream. The head quickly falls to a ring, leaving no lace. A thin film rises and falls underneath the ring, leaving no legs on a Pretentious Beer Glass Company Snifter.

The aroma is sweet and fruity, with a light, farmhouse funk. Mincemeat pie comes to mind, with prunes and dates to follow. After only a few sips, there is an unfortunate soapiness and astringency that is accompanied by alcohol.

The flavor is less sweet than the initial aroma had suggested, and about on par with the general experience. This is malty, with no discernible hops. After a few minutes of warmth, light bitterness is perceptible. Prunes and plums are here, though overwhelmed by soap. The finish is long and mild.

A medium to full body, with a soft texture and faint carbonation. Alcohol, while certainly present, is far below 13%. This beer has a solvent quality that is most unfortunate.

Thousand Pound Sow lacks the pop I have come to expect from this style. Unfortunately, for me, this one is a miss.

No exact date, but I do know it was bottled in October 2020.

Almost clear, deep orange-amber , with light tan head.

Smell is dried cherry, prune , and raisin , with a slight brandy-like aroma. Some maple is present from the open bottle, but not from the glass.

Taste is raisin, beach plum, and something that is between leather and wood. Light pleasant bitterness, that lends a drying effect. Slight tang lingers on the upper palate . No noticeable alcohol.

Feel is smooth, slightly slick and syrupy , with light very fine carbonation. No alcohol-warming , despite the 13% abv.

Overall, a nice quad. Dangerously easy-drinking. Nice drying finish, that keeps it from being too sweet.
