Pours almost clear, amber to light blush (SRM 7-9). The head is disappointingly minimal, one-quarter inch of fine, white foam. A nice coating of lace helps to make up for the head. This beer looks autumnal in an Offero Oversized Wine glass.

Alcohol gives off a perfume against a light farmhouse funk. Honey and caramel are sweet and add a fresh quality, as does honeysuckle.

Bitterness is very light and equal to the delicate sweetness. This beer has a distinct flavor of honey-soaked white toast. Light caramel forms a background. Warmth reveals vanilla extract and Cool Whip. The finish is long and modest, allowing bitterness and light astringency to build. Warmth also reveals coriander.

Fine carbonation scrubs the palate. Carbonation aside, this beer has a full body and creamy-smooth texture. The alcohol is quite present, without any heat or harshness that one normally associates with 12%.

This is clearly a Farmhouse take on the Wheat Wine style. Earthiness is present in every aspect. I enjoyed it on a cool, drizzly April afternoon with aged Fontina. The cheese noticeably amplified earthiness within the beer.

Slightly hazy light golden-amber , with one finger of off-white head. Surprising amount of head for 12%abv.

Smell is mostly a light mix of caramel and toffee. There is a little bit of "fresh" wheat malt , and a slight boozy aroma, that both disappear with the head. Overall very light, and have to strain to get enough to identify what is there.

Taste is mostly lightly toasted caramel. There is also a hint of dried orange rind. A slight tang, and a quick cheek-peck kiss of bitterness, towards the finish. No noticeable alcohol. :O Not specifically noticing the cocao or vanilla, but what bitterness is there is consistent with un-sweetened chocolate.
[Edit : On the last bit (3oz?) , now poured into the glass, I do get some dry cocoa aroma and flavor.]

Feel is medium, and smooth, with just enough very, very fine soft carbonation, to let you know that it is beer. Drying finish, that lingers on the tip of the tongue. No alcohol-warming of any sort.

Overall, wow!, this is 12% ?!!! Very pleasant, and DANGEROUSLY easy-drinking. :) The long description makes it out to be an imperial blonde, but the sub-description on the label says "Wheat Wine". Only have had one wheat wine prior to this, but I do see the similarity. No noticeable spice , as with most blondes I've had, so "Wheat Wine" might be a more apt descriptor. In any event, this is quite good, & I would recommend it . (As long as you're not driving, or don't have anything else important to do. ;) ) I feel more like I just had something in the 5% range.Reminiscent of Crazy Daizy, in that respect. Let's see what happens when I stand up. :P
