From a growler, filled yesterday, let sit out for 5 minutes, before pouring
Nearly-clear burnt orange, with a hint of purple. Light snow-white head , that leaves a thin ring.
Smell is , not surprisingly , an acetic mix of oak, grape, and rhubarb.
Taste is dry bread crust, like with a cream ale, but drier, a fruity mix with occasional brief flashes of either grape {comes across as a mix of Concord+red grape juice} or a raspberry-rhubarb flavor, a light spiciness (coriander+) , and a bit of oak (tannin). Mildly sour, with some light bitterness.
Feel is light, with fine sharp carbonation on the latter half. Some light slickness on the tongue at, and after, finish. Drying finish.
Nice one! Seems ~infinitely drinkable , especially on a hot summer day (which this windy, snowy evening is decidedly not ;) ). One can hope, eh? I was surprised by the malt presence up front , and do like. This comes across as a wild/sour ale +/- (it isn't), blended with some of the light malt & spicy character of a saison (which it is). Give it a try! :)
