We’ve dialled back the roasted malts on this one to really let the coffee shine while adding a touch of lactose to add to the already silky creamy body. The Yirgasheffe Beans were ground very coarse and added to the stout once it had been crashed to 0.5C. The coffee profile is pronounced, clean and dominant and reflects the quality of the Artisti beans.

A Christmas present from 2023, drunk in March 2024.
L: Jet black with a fluffy, appropriately coffee-coloured head. No carbonation can be seen through the blackness.
S: Coffee, dark berries with an almost red wine note.
T: Powerful, bitter coffee immediately upon pouring. As the coffee notes diminish, creamy cola and berries take over, but the acridness of the coffee remains. The finish is dry and bitter. Very nice.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and full, and carbonation is mild, but carbonic prickle is noticeable in the mouth and gullet.
O: As far as coffee stouts go, this is an excellent, tasty effort. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I can appreciate the coffee notes in this one.
Cheers!
