It was for the blue collar laborers of the coal mines and steel works that Dortmund's brewers first made a strong lager slightly darker than the Czech Pilsner, but as malty as Munich's finest offerings. Inspired by this tradition, Clandestine has brewed a beer called simply 'dOrT'. Beginning with water carefully built to replicate the high mineral content of Dortmund, only German malts are used to produce a strong lager with malty flavor and a full-bodied mouthfeel. Finally, German Spalter hops are added to give a balanced bitterness, accentuated by the minerals added to the water. Taken together these ingredients produce a smooth and balanced beer.
