Purchased in a crowler from the taproom. Low abv at 5.5.
Poured into a ceramic cup, so it is hard to see the color but there is a fair amount of head which dissipates slowly over time. The label says "brown porter with pumpkin".
The pumpkin taste is there, as is the malty porter character. I will usually give a dark pumpkin ale a try when I see it in stores and this one is no exception.
Smell is a bit vegetable like, probably due to the added pumpkin but I do not mind it. Vanilla notes also might also be present on the nose.
The mouthfeel is well balanced, not heavy, somewhat on the lighter side towards what remind me of some brown ales I've had. Yes, kind of a mix between a brown ale/ porter with pumpkin, but there isn't the presence of bitterness or a hop profile that I can tell.
Taste is unique, and, again, bringing me towards the brown ale style. Also the beer, reminds me of opening one of the first bottles from a batch of homebrew. I figure that the beer has been made recently.
Overall a positively rated beer for those that enjoy dark pumpkin ales.

This brown porter ale features tastes of pumpkin and vanilla. They complement the roasty and caramel notes you would expect in a porter. Very refreshing and well balanced.
