EBF sample pour. I haven't actually had Pho before so shame on me. All I know is that I don't want my beer to taste like this. It tasted brothy and spicy. It was spicy in terms of heat and non-heat spice. Just an odd beer that I did not like. Could see this giving me intense beer shits.

500ml bottle poured into a snifter
L - Black with a white head that dissipates immediately.
S - Cinnamon, anise, cola.
T - Roasty malt, some cinnamon and anise. Bitterness from the spices. Hint of coriander.
F - Moderate carbonation, fairly thin.
O - Interesting beer, but not sure I would drink it again. Wish it had a little more body and a better balance of the spices.

Wow star anise in your face!! Way too much licorice for my taste, it's like a jäger shot was dropped in my beer, and not in a good way

Reddish brown, dark with good clarity, thin layer of frothy off-white foam on the surface.
Aroma is strong aniseed, licorice is just about it. Taste is also super licoricey. Dry aftertaste with a lingering taste of, you guessed it, licorice. If you ever dreamed of Jagermeister in beer form, this is it. Pretty one dimensional, though not bad. I love Pho, but this doesn't really remind me of it at all.
