750 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Had 9/17/16.
Pours a fairly hazy medium amber, with a short, quickly dissipating head and some spotty lacing. Smell is Belgian yeast. some bourbon, vanilla, some toffee, a general spicy aroma. The taste leads with malt, more bourbon than the nose- really nice flavor, vanilla , some caramel, spices- cloves, nutmeg, a little oak. Light alcohol warming. Smooth, solid body, appropriate level of carbonation.
Good flavor, well blended. The Four Roses barrels impact a distinct flavor and don't overwhelm the style. Solid effort.

Pours a crisp clean auburn with a thin tan head. Head dissipates quickly leaving some spotty film on the top of the beer. Beer is still showing minimal carbonation. Not unusual for a BBA beer.
Smell is full of aromas of bourbon, vanilla, malts and caramel.
Taste follows the nose with a nice barrel presence. Strong but not overpowering notes of bourbon give this beer a warmth that is very pleasant. Notes of vanilla, caramel, and bread come through with underlying dark roasted malts. Bit of sweetness throughout but not cloying.
Feel has minimal carbonation - very still. Very smooth and buttery.
Overall a really nice offering from Marz Community Brewing. Certainly aging it in a bourbon barrel is a unique touch for the style, but it was a complimentary touch. I'm not sure if this was a one off or will stick around, but I for one hope it sticks around.

Taste: Malty smokey, smooth warming barrel bourbon notes.
Big wood barrel nose. Copper color and clear. Medium body. A good beer to mellowly sip. Barrel aged version from "4 Roses" barrels.
