5/13/18: 12 ounce pour into snifter, $7 at The Garage in Chicago. Cloudy puffy white head, golden murky pour. Light sweet fruit aroma. Light taste, sweet fruit, thin mouth feel, medium carbonation. Overall OK offering.

14oz draft pour into a bulging pint glass shows a cloudy pale yellow body, briefly supports a 1/2in fluffy white head, and leaves digital lacing.

Aroma is slightly muted citrus rind.

Flavors include tropical and citrus fruit and pith. Don't let it warm, though. (The feet come out)

Mouthfeel is smooth and just barely sticky, with a clean finish.

Overall a very fruity beer for having no fruit. Enjoyable at least.

Canned 11/01/17
Glad they put this in cans and are dating them, i'd passed on the $8 12 oz. bottles for well over a year.

Opaque tan orange, kind of a dullness to it. Thin layer of creamy foam and spotty lacing.
Aroma is fruity, sort of a nebulous cocktail of citrus and vaguely tropical notes, pale malt coming through.
Taste is bittersweet citrus pith with a lingering astringent bitterness in the aftertaste. Creamy smooth body otherwise.
Overall it's good, not great and the high price point will probably keep me from returning to it.

"Roar!" Not only does that dragon on the label catch the eye as he cowers over his prized bowl of fruit, but the tantalizing fruitiness of the so-called pale ale speaks just as loudly as the succulent ale splashes on the tongue.

Splash floods the nose with a ripe bouquet of citrus, tropical, orchard, and melon-type fruits. Seemingly cut from the hawaiian fruit punch cloth, the beer's scent is herbal and honey-like while nestling into the glass with a turbid goldenrod glean. Its frothy meringue pushes those aromas and invites the first fruit-centric, malty-sweet sip.

As the middle palate unfolds, the ale bursts on the tongue like pop rocks. Pineapple, pink grapefruit, lemon, lime, mango, peach, apricot, cantaloup, dragonfruit, passionfruit, kiwi and white grape all take turns swirling around the tastebuds until a taste of bittered fruit sherbet appears. Leafy with verbena, herb and botanicals, a gentle waft of cannabis closes the session with a bitter and grassy bite.

Lightly peppery in aftertaste, the flavors of herb, citrus peel and tropical fruit rinds apply a smooth and bitter grip on the throat while a savory bittersweet taste trends hoppy in aftertaste. Let's make no mistake about it, the hop content of the beer leaves the palate awash with IPA flavor despite what its bitterness might say.
