16.9 oz bottle poured into a pilsner glass shows a deep copper amber colored body and briefly floats a 1/2in brown fluffy head with legs and no lacing.
Aroma is flowery, spicy, herbal, citrus, with oak and booze underneath.
Flavors include elderberry and then hints cinnamon late on the pallette with barely a touch of booze heat.
Mouthfeel leans thin, medium tart to bright pucker factor.
Overall a well crafted beverage. I can see this beverage broadening medieval mind's.

From 500mL bottle. "Bottle condition gruit ale with fresh rosemary, cinnamon sticks, elderberries and Heather tips. Wine and absinthe barrel aged."
Pours amber brown, fairly hazy. Not much head or lacing.
Smell is heavy on the absinthe with fresh herbs and bitters. Much more sour on the tongue, wine and finishes with deep herbal flavor reminiscent of fernet branca. Crisp but I would like a little more body.
