Our years of sour experience and days of Haze expertise has culminated in this special hybrid blend. It’s tart, it’s hazy. It’s fucked up. Is this what tropical stone fruit tastes like?
This tangy and hopped up blend of our house wild bacteria and yeast along with one of our New England haze bombs is freaking us out. Its everything we like and nothing we don’t. Tart N’ Tangy is a melange of grapefruit, lemon, orange, stone fruit and berry flavors from the judicious use of amarillo, el dorado, and mosaic hops.

Hazy, dusty yellow topped by a thin (despite the aggressive pour) and incomplete but creamy white head. Minimal lacing but carbonation awakened by each tip of the glass. Citrus aromas complementing the color dominate with grapefruit leading the charge and touch of mango and other citrus rind supporting. Theme continues in the taste with grapefruit and lemon drops. Stumbles ever so slightly with a bit of cloying at the end but not before effortlessly cutting thru the afternoon humidity.

No false advertising here! A hazy ipa that really has a nice tang from citrus and tang from cherry and sugar. Sweeter and champaign like carbonation makes this one go down easy. Not a traditional take, but a fun one

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a 1 pint 0.9 fl oz bottle on February 25, 2018. Look is hazy bright yellow gold with a bubbly head and foamy lacing. Smell and taste is tart bitter citrus. Feel has a sharp bite.

Highlights the sour so often neglected by Midwest purveyors of NEIPAs. The tartness does sacrifice some juiciness, or at least makes a hard left into grapefruit, but it also avoids the astringence of some mosaic-based NEIPAs. Would pick up again.

Pours a completely opaque matte orange color. Thick full velvety white head dissipates slowly but never completely. A residual thin layer of velvety foam lingers on the head. No lacing is eft behind. Its a very pretty looking beer.
Aroma has notes of orange, tangerine, mango and peach. Touch of lactose on the nose gives it a creamsicle like aroma. No tartness or tang comes through on the nose.
Flavor has notes of orange, tangerine, mango, peach and a hint of sour lemon. Slight green hop bitterness on the finish. When this beer is cold you get no bitterness or tart/tang. As it warms the bitterness starts to come through with a somewhat harsh bitterness on the finish. Really though I wish there was more of the advertised tart and tangy.
Feel is full bodied and smooth. Mild carbonation. Somewhat dry finish.
Overall this is a nice NE style IPA with lactose - whatever that take on the style is. That being said, I grabbed it because it was advertised as a "wild NE style IPA" - tart and tangy in the vein of the Hudson Valley NE style IPAs.
