Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a 1 pint 0.9 fl oz bottle on November 20, 2018. A barrel aged dry hopped black Berliner weiss with pineapple. A nice balance of tart fruit and barrel notes.

Dark dark black-brown appearance with a good bit of foam upon pour. Quite acidic and tart. Some mild pineappple and a little oak in there as well. Very interesting and unique beer.

A mind bender of a beer! Love the creativity and boldness. Let's start with the black berliner base, it is malty, smokey, and has a good bit of grainy yeast. Add to this base a tart and acidic pineapple punch, a hint of coconut and charred wood, and a smooth satin finish like wine. Certainly a combo that perhaps many would not like, but I do! Recommend this adventure for any veteran beer drinker, it is a fun experience.

a really cool beer, they all were at marz! this one is a barrel aged version of their black berliner with pineapples, a crazy unique brew. for one, i like the style of black berliner, a little roast and bitterness to the wheaty base always works for me with the lacto, this one has a note of smoke to it as well, and nice body to support all the fruit. its cloudy dark brown from the tap and not holding much of a head despite being well enough carbonated while i drink on it. the pineapple has an almost grilled quality to it with the dark malts in here, which is part of the brilliance of this beer, and while its a little sweet, i think the pineapple comes through really honestly and naturally. the acidity is pretty high here, so i didnt want to drink a ton of this, but it sure adds a refreshing and still tropical element to the dark beer. i do get a little coconut too, maybe from the barrel or maybe my mind is just used to it with pineapple, but there is nice complexity here. not overly barrel driven, just mellowed and enhanced by it. fun stuff, one of a kind. i loved it here!
