Canned 12/20 and had 2/18, so it’s getting a little old. Still it smelled great and I love the sweet juicy flavor. I’ve liked lots of Marz beers but they’re very overpriced and with such strong competition in the Chicago market, I don’t buy them much. The smell is still great on the beer and it’s a pretty cloudy hazy IPA. A fine example of the style and worth buying when seen fresh. I hope to have one of these at Maria’s Packaged Good soon!

Kind of murky moreso than hazy. Still pretty with a light brown core and a quickly disapating head. Nose is lovely - malt sweetness boosts the nice bright notes of pineapple and lime. Taste is great - lots of tropical fruit and good amount of citrus rind bitterness. Not a pure juice bomb which I love. Mouthfeel is a little slick and could maybe have a bit more nuance with a lighter body. Still one of the best IPAs I had during my recent trip through Chicago collecting various cans.

12oz can, thanks to my friend, Ken, for giving me a can to try. Opaque golden-yellow body with a frothy white cap. Green hops, faint tropical fruit, pineapple, and papaya for aroma. Zesty and hoppy tropical flavors: papaya, pineapple, mango, tart passion fruit, grapefruit, and more of that fresh green hop flavor. Fuller body, very creamy and smooth with some residual resin, an interesting tea leaf flavor comes though in the after-taste. Overall, it's a good NEIPA. I'm glad to try it, but can't see myself recommending this one.

Hazy opaque pale orange, topped with rocky meringue foam.
Pineapple, mango, a little sweet, a little yeasty.
Orange, bitter grapefruit, and trace pineapple flavors.
Creamy and smooth with a light pleasant hop bitterness.
Label graphics by Paperrad, never thought i’d see the day.

more of that dry hoppy new school juice, better than many, but in a lot of ways just more of the same. i have come to expect unique beers all the time from these guys, and this one feels more like a follower than a leader, which is not to say that it isnt delicious, but it doesnt have the same adventurous spirit than so many of their beers do, and as such turns me on a little less than most of what i have had from marz. it is a bit more complete than a lot of the haze bombs too though, with some noticeable bitterness on the back end, even a little hop burn to it, juicy sure, but also a little leafy and wet and spicy even, pretty robustly hoppy. so thick looking, and it feels thick too and sits a little heavy, maybe a bit more turbid than it needs to be, but its sort of intense on all fronts, so at least its logically consistent, for better or worse. i like the freshness you get from cryo hops, its intense but it works in a post fermentation context, and these guys seem to use them in a lot of their beers, or at least be at the forefront of sourcing them. juicy and bright, alive and fresh, oily and heavy, still on the dry side, one is enough. not the best of the marz stuff, but i suppose every relevant brewery has to have a couple of hazy ipas in their repertoire nowadays...

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on May 2, 2018. Canned 4/27/18. Double dry hopped with Citra, Comet, and Citra cryo. Look is hazy. Feel is creamy and smooth.
