12oz can, dated 07.28.2022, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass.
The beer pours a dark copper color, medium amber hues, fairly clear with a slight chill haze and a finger of white head that has good retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is pleasant, lots of caramel and amber malts, sweet and hearty grain, melon forward hops with strawberry and citrus that brings out a touch of grassy wildflower. The flavors are good, lots of bitter grapefruit peel, amber grains, biscuit malt, melon fruit with a bit of tropical character, wildflower, grass, pine, resinous hop oil. The mouthfeel is good, coating, lively medium body, smooth with a crisp finish.
Verdict: A nice pale ale from Marz. A slight twist on an otherwise very classic take on the American style that highlights a nice malt profile balanced with a nice array of hops that offer a diverse spectrum of flavors. Not too intense, just a very sessionable beer.
