Poured at brewery - on tap, golden liquid with a bright white foamy head.
Smelled distinctly of roast coffee, along with notes of chocolate, hay, faint citrus.
Taste was quite good, certainly a roasted coffee presence from the first sip that worked surprisingly well as notes of cocoa, vanilla, wheat, lemon zest, and caramel malt came through. Finish was dryish with bitterness of lingering roasted coffee beans and cocoa on the tongue. Medium light body and ample carbonation.
I’m a fan of coffee beers and coffee in general and this one is done right, a nice little surprise from West O.
