As an American red ale, our smoked red crushes the guidelines. Roasted malts yield nutty flavors mixed with dark fruit from caramel malts. A responsible amount of cherry wood smoked malt adds to the complexity. Now, patiently aged in oak whiskey barrels, we present to you - Whiskey Red. Enjoy

Dark Red pouring with a 2 finger off white head. The retention is quite good, and there's some lacing on the glass.
Aroma is a bit light. I get some malts here,
Flavor is quite complex, and I won't be able to do justice to it. I get some raisin and plum flavors here. I get some biscuit malts here. Caramel and smoke also comes in with a candy sweetness. There's also a slight bitterness that pokes its head in the mix.
The body feels a bit boozy for a 7.8% beer. It is full and rich.
My neighbors to the south can create great beers, and this is one of them. I wish I had another bottle of it.
