Stopped by the FtB 1st Anniversary Party yesterday (11JUL15) and snagged a 32oz "growler" of this fine offering. Shared it later with Alewife in the 'Zebo... Mmmm!!
Each had a pint in an imperial nonic.... It was a clear, deep, rich chestnut-mahogany color. Couldn't tell what the carbo situation was like. Head was a 1/4" layer of tan, fine, creamy foam, which left some nice lacing behind. Aroma had roasty notes of choco and coffee, though not much bourbon. Still, it was quite inviting! Body was medium-plus, and velvety smooth going down.
Tasted of a healthy amount of semi-sweet malt to start. Was plenty of coffee, choco and mocha present on the palate. Then the bourbon and oak action kicked in, which was lovely! Finish was dry, with minimal hopping detected. But, the bourbon action here was top-shelf without being over the top. A winner, for both Alewife and myself. Prosit!!

Pours a two finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Bourbon nose and flavor is bourbon and baked chocolate. Higher ABV is hidden. $8.25 for a 22oz bottle from Bert's Better Beers Hooksett, NH

On tap at Cask and Vine
Nearly opaque black color with a decent tan head. Big roasted grain and coffee notes with a solid smattering of bourbon and wood. Light vanilla and fruit round us out nicely. silky turning to ashy in the mouthfeel Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Seems like a stout at times due to the heavy roast and only faint chocolate. That lines so blurry who the hell cares anymore. The bourbon and wood meld nicely and add some great complexity without overpowering this great brew.
