Got me a 16oz squealer today ($8.00) at FtB... Digging in while watching the Chiefs thrash the Colts...

My Tributary snifter now holds a dark, opaque brown liquid, with a very thin, fine ring of tan bubbles at the rim... Lacing is decent, all-in-all... Aroma has some nice roasty action with some coffee and choco. Also has a touch of vanilla and toffee. Feel is smooth, with a near-medium body.

Taste has more choco, coffee, and roasty action. A little bit of dark fruit lurks under the surface... A suggestion of rum-soaked brown bread appears, though it is light. Has some floral hoppage lingering in the finish. A decent bier, though not a knock-your-socks-off-er... Prosit!!

Poured on draft at WHYM. Pours a very attractive near black with a 2 inch tan head, that leaves rings of lace.

Smell is rum, nut meg, vanilla, oak, vanilla, caramel, toffee, biscuit, and brown sugar.

Taste follows nicely rum soaked raisins, nut meg, caramel, toffee, vanilla, oak, brown sugar, and biscuit.

Mouthfeel is on the bigger size of medium, plenty of carbonation, a bit dry, and excellent drinkability.

Overall this is a very nice stout, lots of nut meg and toffee covered raisins. This is a stand out for NH.

Pours a dark brownish-black with a 1 finger tan head. Some pretty solid lacing here.

The smell is dark chocolate with some nice, roasted coffee on the back end. I detect the faintest hint of fig but it's definitely there.

The taste is a well-balanced blend of dark chocolate and coffee, with a subtle roasted flavor throughout each sip. I get a bit of vanilla on the end as well which was a pleasant surprise.

The mouth is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The alcohol is well-hidden though I get a very faint burn at the end of each sip.

Overall this is a fantastic Imperial Stout. It isn't complex by any means but it is well-balanced and all the flavors and aromas work very well together.

This is the real deal. This is one of the more balanced and flavorful Imperial Stouts that I have had. Too me this is a beer you must find and try. The flavors are just so wonderful. Chocolate is the main flavor, but there is so much more. Bottle states 8.5%, but I get no alcohol burn at all, even after sitting outside on a 80* night. I wish I had gotten more now.

From the 650 ml bottle. Sampled on February 28, 2015.

The pour is dark brown to just about black with a full, soft and silky tan head.

The aroma brings together chocolate, spent coffee grinds, and a touch of undefinable dark fruit. But I do pick up something on the extremities.

Medium to better than medium body.

The flavor tends to favor the chocolate more than the coffee but both are evident. A dryer lingering bitterness to end it all. Worth trying if you can get your hands on it. It is only in New Hampshire.

Bottle from Bert's
Pours a solid dark brown color with a smallish but long lasting tan head. Huge caramel and milk chocolate aromas with some faint roast, earth, and dark dried fruits. There's more earth and roast in the flavor than the aroma suggested as well as a bit of tobacco with hints of smoke. Chocolate and caramel are in there as well but not as prominent as in the aroma. Medium to thick body with a light level of carbonation and a silky creamy mouthfeel. Very tasty, but does have a lingering roasted grain bitterness that can get intense at times. I'd love to lay on of these down to see how it develops.
