Pours a deep, murky orange color with a 2-finger white head. Not much lacing but the head is gorgeous.
The aroma is dank and bitter up front with some nice citrusy tones following right behind.
The taste is bitter, piney, hop juice with a fruity, citrusy back end. I get notes of orange and mango, as well as some grapefruit. This is a dank, bitter beer, but it is well balanced.
The mouth is well-carbonated and dry, and there's a slight alcohol burn on my tongue with each sip. I was shocked at the ABV only being 8.10. This beer hits hard and heavy, but in a good way.
Overall, an excellent offering from FTB. If they could find a way to hide the alcohol a bit more while still keeping the full flavor, this could be a truly amazing DIPA.
