I picked up a 32oz squealer today at FtB, for $10.... time to check it out...
Poured some into a small tulip.... It's a muted, flat, medium golden color. Being somewhat opaque, I can't tell what the carbo sitch looks like. Head is thin, fine and off-white, with decent lacing. Nose is all hops, with a mix of bitter and semi-sweet. It has a good feel on the tongue, though I thought it is a touch thin in the body.
Taste had a hint of caramel and toasty malts before heading to hop-ville. Fruityness is on the sweeter side, overall, with tangerine and apricot holding court. Afterwards there is a touch more bitterness, with rindy, pithy citrus bringing up the rear. All in all, a little lackluster for an 8.20% ABV bier; thought it would have more "oomph" in the hop category. Fairly tadty, but... could have been better, imo... Prosit!

500ml bottle dated "March 2017".
Pours cloudy gold with a thin head of white. Minimal retention and average lacing. Aromatics are a blend of grapefruit and hard peaches with a hint of pears and apricots. Medium bodied with a soft, almost silky mouthfeel. Tropical fruit on the palate with some faint honey. Mango, peach, grapefruit and tangerine with a solid bitterness following through. Zero malt and fairly dry. Finishes with honey-drizzeled citrus and warming alcohol.
Another great NE-Style IIPA from FTB. These guys are killing it lateley.
