Brownish body with mahogany edgework, zero head and minimal retention or lacing. Sweet maple and booze in the nose with mild chocolate and roast notes. Medium bodied at best with a tacky, slick mouthfeel. Thin for the style. Sweet maple liqueur with light roast and chocolate on the palate. Finishes boozy, sweet, and thinnish with a slightly odd, woody note.
The base beer was no match for the barrel on this one, I think a more robust, substantial Porter would have made a big difference.
