The brewery is located in a somewhat desolate industrial area off I70, about 15 minutes east of downtown Columbia. But don’t let that discourage you from visiting. There are two taprooms. I chose the smaller, more intimate one. The vibe was local and friendly (and dogs welcome) and the staff could not have been nicer. I had a great time chatting with the bartender and patrons. The beer was better than expected. Overall, this was by a great brewery experience.

Big empty warehouse. Looks like they might have an event going later, hard to get service. Beer is ok. Might just be an off day but not impressed at all.

On the outskirts of town, industrial location, large building with high ceilings and numerous wooden park style benches inside and outside. Fermentors all over...you are def in a brewery.
Friendly staff, pumping out numerous draft beers and a wide array of can options, lots of games to play and have fun with friends and family. They offer a selection of pizzas, a burger/cheeseburger option, but I'd go here for the beer and likely eat somewhere else.
Fun place to visit with friends to enjoy quality brews in a very casual and comfortable place

I've been to the tasting room many times. It's small and within view of the brewing equipment. Very small bar with 7 to 9 tables. Bar staff know their own products but do not offer anything but beer brewed on site. They usually have 4 to 6 crafts on tap. No food on site. Usually not very crowded. Brewery tours available occasionally. Wonderful black cat occasionally on site. Recommended.

Edit from 2020: The space is much larger now. Essentially in a garage-type space with lots of lawn games inside. Big picnic tables.
Bur Oak is on the outskirts of town in an industrial park. The building is not much to look at. The bar area is nice. A few tables, all with a view into the brewhouse. The main attraction is the small batch beers that aren't canned or on tap around town.
