This beer seems to be quite popular down here in the Charlotte area so thought I would give it a try. It was poured to an extremely clear yellow color with a fair sized white head that broke down quite quickly leaving some lacing. The aroma was very buttery with a heavy husk like scent, nit much going on here for me! The taste was more of the same, very husky with the taste and I could only drink about half of the brew. It is one that I will not get again but if it is one of the money-makers for Carolina Beer and Beverage and it allows them to continue to produce the Cottonwood line then it is ok with me. Actually on the brewery tour this past weekend they where saying that it is just the environment down here that makes this brew so popular. A side bar is that they are experimenting with new brews and just are waiting (hope) for pop the cap passes.

I was very impressed with this light beer.
A very pretty offering arriving a medium cloudy amber and of medium body. Carbonation is on the lighter side but acceptable and the head almost two fingers leading to a mountainous glass cling and a thick bubbled lace.
The aroma has a mixed worty and grainy affect.
The taste has a sweet dryness to it beginning to end with hops enough for a mild balancing affect. As this brew is consumed a hoppy/lemmony taste emerges to finish.
This brew is very surprizing and enjoyable....It does not come across as a light beer.

12 oz bottle. Silver label with a Hilton Head like Light House behind the "Carolina Light" Script. I think this is being touted as a match to the Michelob Ultra low carb beers. Bottom of the label has "Only 70 Calories and 2 grams carbohydrates per 12 fl. Oz's" Okie dokie

Light yellow super pale color that turned cloudy. Initial rocky white fizzy head blew up an left. Smells of corn, sugar pops and metal shavings. Taste is super sweet, with a sharp tart lemon flavor. Metallic flavor also hits and lingers way to long. Lemon flavors and reminds you of a wheat beer taste, despite "lager" being stamped on the bottom. Watery, grainy, and corn syrup like sweetness lingers. The finish was like soggy sugar smacks. Not something to seek out or lose sleep over. I had this after 12 hours working in the Florida Sun, and with a spicy chinese food dish, and could barely finish it. I have a feeling this could be their wheat beer, just repackaged for the low carb fad. They wouldn't do that, would they ? No additional information on their website. Skip this one and have some water, save your room and carb intake for good beer.
