Copper and filtered with a moderate amount of swirl rising bubbles. Topped with 3 fingers of light beige head that leaves a nice lacing.
Smells of distant pines, burning campfire and creme brulee. Hints of orange and citrus as well.
The taste follows the nose but brings it all up close and personal, like the pines and campfire are magnified through a telescope. The orange follows. There is a nice malty, dough like quality that balances the hops well. Getting hummas and Middle eastern spices as well. Sage, and other green herbs too.
Light body, moderately low carbonation. Balanced and smooth feeling.
Got in Chiang Mai where I am drinking it today, Sept 20th, 2017. It has both balance and complexity, but is light, safe and not overwhelming aggressive like 6foot5.

Brought this back from my travels in NZ.
Appearance - Pours a pale amber with three fingers of frothy off-white head.
Smell - tropical and citrus hops, mango, pineapple, passionfruit, orange, bready malts, and notes of caramel.
Taste - Oh my goodness... flavourful tropical and citrus hops, well met with the bready malts and a touch of caramel sweetness.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Touch of stickiness on the palate with a lingering hop/fruit bitterness.
Overall - There really needs to be a NZ Pale Ale category on Beer Advocate, as this style is in a league of its own! All the hop and malt flavours are spot on. If you are looking to try a new style of beer, especially in the pale ale category, go on a search for a classic NZ Pale Ale (or pick one of these up if you find yourself in the land of the long white cloud).
