A Northwest style Brown Ale made with Rye malt, along with 2-row, chocolate, and crystal60 malts create a very nice malt forward beer. This is a great beer for the person that says they don't like dark beers. This one is very approachable. Fuggles and Perle hops are used sparingly so that the malt can take center stage.

My first review on BA. Why? Because this beer knocked my socks off! A growler was brought to me in Michigan all the way from Washington. Refrigerated for two days. The look and smell of it makes you want to dive in. The taste is pure brown beer heaven, so smooth, but the most noticeable attribute was the creamy feel, like a milkshake. This one is way underrated! Absolutely Outstanding! The only reason for not giving the Dirt Track 5 out of 5 is - the strive for perfection (although never achieved) must go on!

I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: darkish brown hue with a finger of creamy ivory foam. Very attractive indeed.
Smell: lightly caramelly and toasty; overall a nicely balanced and well crafted brown ale, if not especially complex.
Taste: lightly toasty and mildly sweet with a nice caramel character. Not bad.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good, well-integrated carbonation and a concomitant creaminess. I dig it.
Overall: I feel like I could quaff a lot of this. Very good stuff.

Smooth, even, malty, a bit of hops popping through. A very nice version of the style.
