Stopped by for a growler of this. Brewer says this is the updated version made with Skagit Valley malt and El Dorado hops. Appealing aroma of honey and fruit trees blooming. Poured in the Maredsous goblet it's a lovely golden amber with plenty of foam. Spritzy on the tongue with a mellow mouthfeel.
There is a touch of melon and pine in the hops. This is just austere enough to set off the lightly sweet malt with it's touch of honey. Moderate bitterness is just right for balance. This is my favorite Northwest Pale Ale yet. Another reason to veer slightly off the freeway if you're north of Everett.
