This brewpub/beer hall is located inside the West exit of the Ryogoku JR Train station (yes, it is physically under the same roof as the station). This place is a joint venture of Sapporo Beer and New Tokyo Restaurants.
The room is a large rectangular beer hall with very high ceilings, some stained glass windows high on the walls, a very large painting of a sumo wrestler high on one wall (there is a sumo museum nearby), and there are potted trees throughout the restaurant. There are large copper kettles on display behind glass at the rear of the restaurant.
The food is typical beer garden or izakaya type foods. The food was good. The waiters and waitresses punch your order into wireless PDA type things.
The offer 3 of their own brews: a Weizen, a Pilsner, and a Dark Lager. In addition they also serve Sapporo beers. The beers are OK.
The place is worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood, but if you only have time for one place, go around the corner to Popeye.
