the best chili beer i have had in years, this thing has just the right amount of back of the throat heat, but has a glorious pepper capsicum aroma and flavor, fresh and unmistakable. so unique in ints fusion with the light malt body and all the hops. i think the hoppy nature of the beer is a superb base for the pepper, it attaches itself to the hop bitterness and a balance is found in an unlikely place here. malt is really light, seemingly just pale two row, not getting in the way at all. but its also cool because these flavors arent overpowering to the base beer, it fits in really well. there is a warming feel on the lips, but only a touch of heat as the beer drinks. it would go well with tons of cool ethnic food, spicy curry, noodles, fried rice, any of that stuff. the belgian yeast picks it up a little too with some melon fruitiness and a lot of carbonation. definitely one of the more interesting beers ive had in awhile, and definitely the best pepper beer i can remember. expertly designed this one.
