At Moody Tongue, our goal is to create beers which excite the palate – and we are always on the search for multi-dimensional ingredients which complement traditional beer styles. Grapefruits, with their high acidity, are a natural candidate to wake the palate and provide balance with the sweetness of malt. In this Pilsner, we capture sweet, sour and bitter tastes from the grapefruit within a light, refreshing body. Enjoy this Peeled Grapefruit Pilsner with sunshine and a grill, and the pairing opportunities will be endless.

Fuller mouth feel than most pilsners. Pretty much a fruit bomb without the ipa hops bitterness.

A: Pours a hazy pale to medium golden apricot in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass, light to moderate amounts of medium sized yeast particles in suspension, and moderate orange + pale golden yellow + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy white head that reduces to a medium sized patch of very thin film surrounded by a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Very light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of pink grapefruit citrus and grapefruit zest citrus over the top of light aromas of bready + grainy malts with a hint of grainy sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light flavors of bready + grainy malts with a hint of grainy sweetness. That is followed by slightly stronger than moderate flavors of pink grapefruit citrus and grapefruit zest citrus. No perceptible hop flavor is present. Minimal amounts of bitterness are present and the pink grapefruit flavors linger through the finish.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Hints of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Almost reminds me of a shandy but still enjoyable - tastes like they added a lot of grapefruit juice to a pilsner.
