they call this thing a bock, which i dont very much agree with, but i like the beer quite a bit. i couldnt get an answer from anyone on this either, is it actually brewed with torched bananas or just it just derive its name from some yeast esters here, i still dont know for sure, but i would think the latter, as all their adjunct beers in here are quite pronounced and this one seems rather mellow, a starchy banana or plantain vibe, but lots of cooked dark wheat and all that comes with it, toffee and brown sugar and body, and it owns it, rich while still drinkable too which is really cool. malty and sturdy but also simple in some ways, european in the malt, with an almost english element to the grain, basic but good, desserty but drinkable, a fine brew, easy down with some oysters in the taproom, but also certainly not the most interesting beer they make in this place. i like this style and i like this version of it, even if its not all the way interesting, its taste and smooth and mellow and versatile...
