Crooked Neck Hefeweizen

Poured from tap a hazy yellowish orange color with a decently thick head. The smell is not what you would expect from a Hefeweizen. No bananas no clove but instead this malty smell you'd expect from some adjunct lager. The taste was actually pretty good. There's this hint of sourness that's almost like a Berliner Weiss. I like it. Medium bodied feel. Refreshing.

 

Pours a hazy light orange-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, banana, caramel, and slight funk aromas. Taste is much the same with wheat, banana, caramel, and slight funk flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a below average beer that has a slight funk quality in both the smell and taste that is a bit unpleasant.
