On draft at brewery, consumed 11/19/07.
Dark, cola brown - like when ice cubes melt in your Coke. Nice head at first, fades fairly quickly to a thin ring of white around glass edges. Malty nose with cola notes. Subdued malt character, followed by subtle hops, then big malt finish with (again) cola notes. Unusual, but it works.
Interesting variation, reminded me a bit of a brown ale.

This was the last of the beers I consumed at Weiland Brewing.
Appearance: The pour is copper-orange with a good sized head, the biggest of the three Weiland beers.
Smell: The nose is nice and hoppy for an amber. Citrusy and grassy hops and soft caramel malts.
Taste: Hop, citrus and pine, come in first and develop nicely, getting slightly more bitter, as the beer warms. Caramel malts play a larger role in the middle, leading to a nice fruity flavor profile. Hops come back in good form as this beer finishes with a nice bitterness.
To continue the trend of Weiland brews falling between 3.5 and 4.0, I would also give this one a 3.7 if I were able to.
Mouthfeel: This was medium-bodied with highish carbonation.
Drinkability: This is a solid, hoppy amber. It's not the most spectacular beer, but it's far better than a cookie cutter amber from lesser brewpubs.
