this looks much more clear and even a shade darker in color than the normal hop harvest, which i has side by side with this one. not sure why the visual variance, but its still a pretty brew. aroma smells much less hoppy than the original, or rather perhaps covered up a little bit by the brett, which appears to be a number of strains, relatively mature, but not without just a little bit of "still learning how this works" cheesy weirdness to it. its not overly funky, more layered in with the grain and the hops than standing way out as a wild ale, it must be done in conjunction with the saison yeast too, not entirely brett fermented, although that yeast is on the mild side and its tough to tell completely. this is nice and dry, but the brett seems to come at the expense of the fresh cereals and citrusy hops that really made the normal hop harvest stand out to me. this is nice beer, cool on the yeast side, but i prefer the clean brightness of the one without the brett in this instance i think. that said, this could age real well, and the version they did in a chardonnay barrel with sorachi ace hops and bottled was one of the most unique and delicious saisons in my recent memory. maybe better as a base like that than in its own right.
