This is a complete west coast take on a NEIPA, stop calling it haze. Haze implies unfiltered, call it NEIPA, Just stop the gimmick!
L: Pours a dole orange juice color, yellow to orange. 2 Finger head, slowly dissipates.
S: I'm a bit bias for Simcoe. Smells of aging melons, cantaloupe, stone fruit. Just smells like aging fruit, which isn't bad, it has a sweetness when it ages.
T: Nothing like the nose, delivers fruit in every sip. Very melon, tangerine, strawberries, canned pineapples.
F: Light to medium body. Great carbonation. Dry on the backend which is very inviting for another sip.
O: It's Kings-ish (rancho) in their approach, but they do this West Coast NEIPA justice. It has carbonation, great backbone, and a nice hop profile. For their gimmick of zero IBU, I dig this, and I think more brewers should utilize post boil additions like Hamilton has used. It has that classic NEIPA crispness, which I'm sure is coming from the yeast. The hop profile is killer and at 8%, this is incredibly drinkable. They killed this one. I just wish there was more in the nose. Maybe I need to buy this on release or they need more dry hop. Either way, this is a solid beer. Hopefully they add this to their rotation.
