Orangey amber color with adequate suds in the Ciney snifter. Inviting aromas of pineapple and peach with a little pine. Malty and warm toned. The hops are quite fruity, with the mango in the lead followed by some apricot. Moderately sweet and just a modest bitter aftertaste. Crisp and refreshing with just enough acidity. Overall this is a very friendly snake. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Special Brews in Lynnwood, Wash.

Pours a thin head on a hazy straw body.
The aroma is bright tropical fruits: mango and pineapple mostly. Some pine and grapefruit too.
The taste is moderate bitter, a touch of sweetness in the middle, then a big pine bitter finish.
The texture is crisp.
It's really good.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a half finger off-white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and lightly piney hops, nice. Flavor is neutral malt, citrus hops, citrus rind; flavor tapers off into a lingering citrus rind bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. The aroma of this was quite nice, but the taste did not quite live up to it, with less malt flavor that did not quite support the fairly high level of bitterness. The hop profile was nice, with lots of citrus and rind, but nothing stands out. A satisfactory good IPA in a crowded field. It does have enough finishing hop bite to support he snake on the label.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: light golden hue with minimal haze and a light effervescence. Head is a thin layer of ivory foam; not too bad.

Smell: hops are rather floral and soapy atop a relatively sweet malt base. Kind of reminds me of Canadian floral gums. Not my usual thing, but not a bad aroma if that's what they are going for.

Taste: again, soapy and floral flavor with a sweetish malt base beneath. Bitterness is relatively low. The flavor of this beer definitely doesn't match the mean-looking snake on the label, but it is charming in its own way.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent enough creaminess for the style.

Overall: for all that I find some charm in this beer's odd flavor, it does seem like an effort from a young brewery. Not bad, per se, but definitely unrefined.
