Get ready to make your taste buds dance! Tarty to the Party Cherry Lemon Sour Ale is a kettle-soured ale with the addition of cherries to give a touch of extra sweetness and complexity in the beer. Lemons are also added to the brew to create tart flavors that are prominent in the mouthfeel, which blends well with the sweet flavors to add pleasant aroma as well as a fruity taste. Full of flavor from tart to finish, this sour ale is a party you don’t want to miss.

i love when people start getting into craft beer for the first time. my mother in law has been picking up bombers in her shopping more and more frequently, we call them "share beers" and we crack them open when everyone is together and can have a little splash, its been a lot of fun trying beers with someone a little newer to craft but with increasingly high enthusiasm for it, and this was the latest of those bottles, maybe the third i have had from this tarty to the party series but unfortunately not my favorite of them. its a deep brassy golden and rather clear from the bottle, but it has no head after a few seconds and no visible carbonation, enough so that she even commented on it looking flat, and i agree, its near dead in the glass. the aroma is nice though, more sour than it actually tastes with a lot of fragrant natural lemon, so it makes my mouth water. no sign of cherry in the nose, a little more malt than is necessary, and a pretty clean lactic profile. the flavor isnt quite as clean there, a little sweaty thing to it on the finish, and the lemon remains way in front of any cherry here too, plenty authentic, and adding to the acidity, but this isnt too sour in the belly to drink a bunch of. it tastes a little tired to me, maybe less than fully fresh, perhaps a touch of oxidation here, and i keep looking for the cherry part of this that never really comes. the lack of carbonation is problematic for me, this needs some life. this doesnt seem as well refined as i want it to be, but as a kettle sour with lemon, its pretty satisfactory. i enjoyed the experience of sharing the beer much more than i enjoyed the actual beer this time around.
