16oz can at Hops & Bottles. Dark, clear brown pour, fine film of beige head. Aroma is a balanced sweet and roasty, cola, coffee and chocolate. Taste is sweet, chocolate, mild roast with an almost thin body. Light lingering bitterness. Not too heavy.

Look: Pours a rich, chocolate color and looks black in the glass with a nice tan head that quickly settles to a film, leaving good lacing behind

Aroma: Dark fruit – fresh and dried, dark chocolate, a little coffee, warm brown bread, light roast, toffee, and light earthy notes

Taste: Kicks off with a hit of chocolate and toffee before being joined by a flood of dark fruit; plums, dates, figs, and prunes all in tow. Roast, coffee, and rich bready notes hold the middle before a light earthy note and dark fruit signal the impending close

Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, clean, medium-high carbonation, and clean and smooth on the finish

Overall: This is some tasty stuff. I spotted this at a local place and was drawn to it because I love Baltic Porters and also because I didn’t know these folks had this new[er] “Lager Than Life” series out and my gut feeling was sharp as this is some good stuff. A nice, tasty, and well-made example with nice dark fruit notes that hold their own against the chocolate/roast/toffee and that awesomely clean lager finish. Recommended
