Found in Lidl for €2.45 / 330ml can. Costs double than “Twisted Knots”. Let’s see if it’s twice better too!
Top: forms 2” of slightly off-white head, slow retention, although the bubbles are too big, not as bad as the “washing up liquid style”, but nearly. Lots of lacing, actually full lacing.
Colour: as stated, hazy amber. NEIPA haziness to be precise.
Smell: smells like a typical NEIPA too! Fruity (mandarine, orange, dried fruits), slight “Converse sole” hops, some earthy notes.
Taste: I don’t say it’s weak, because it isn’t, but feels sessionable. It’s only 5% ABV, tho. Med- carbonation, light+ body. Bitterness is moderated (NEIPA quality, no. 3), maybe a bit too moderated.
Some citrusy fruitiness, some earthiness, some malts.
Slightly peppery aftertaste, with malts and weak bitterness. Dry finish.
Summary: Lidl started to get a hang to this craft beer thing, and they are getting there slowly. This isn’t a bad beer at all actually, but for that price, there’s just too many other great choices out there. For €1.99 (apparently, that was its old price) or cheaper, it’d be a best buy. For €2.45, it’s just not enough with this hard competition, it would need a little character enhancement and a tiny boost for its ABV. Then again, if you’re stuck for a beer and Lidl is close, it’ll do perfectly fine, it’s good.

330ml Can from Reilly's, Lisnaskea (£2.29):
Quite a thick looking, very hazy amber with a 1cm, foamy white head that's got decent retention & a few bubbles on the surface too. It's a bitter nose with pine hops & grapefruit, some citrus & fruity notes then an earthy bitterness to finish. It's less floral & hoppy with the taste, I got some citrus but there was more earthy malts & biscuit here with a fair amount of bitterness & a biscuit base. It was quite a sharp, clean beer with a light-medium body that's dry & quite crisp too but definitely more basic than I'd have liked too.

500ml bottle brought from Dublin by daughter Tara. Good head with persistent lacing. Not overally hopped but nicely balanced. Much prefer this to it's companion The Hurler.
