Cervezas San Miguel “San Miguel Magna”
33 cl can coded “05-02-25 L3332201755” and sampled on 25-11-23
Notes via stream of consciousness: So I’m not really sure what this beer is but it’s 5.7% ABV and it looks good in the glass. It’s a clear amber in color beneath a full head of slightly off-white foam. The aroma is nothing special, it just smells like toasty malt and mildly herbal hops. On to the taste then, it’s more malty than hoppy, and just a touch fruity with apple. The hops that are there remain herbal, a touch floral, and mildly spicy. It’s well balanced for what it is but I think it could use a little bit more polish. In the mouth it’s medium bodied and crisp. The head dropped readily but it left some decent lacing behind. It’s certainly not a bad beer but it also certainly doesn’t stand out from the crowd.

I am trying a bottle of this beer at the Sans Sebastian airport. It poured a clear golden with thin white ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had grain notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with crisp semi sweet malt base with nice grain and barley highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.
