Embers is our Añejo Barrel Aged Wheat Wine. We mashed one tonne of oak smoked wheat into this wheat wine. Basically a Grodzizkie dialled up to 11, but we didn't stop there. Aging an additional 6 months in freshly emptied Añejo tequila barrels, bringing forth sweetness and notes of citrus, vanilla, raisin and earth. We are stoked to share Embers with you!

my first wheatwine! ever closer to trying all the styles. this is not one i thought i’d get to for a long while, given that it’s never sold in Ireland (this could very well be the first ever irish wheatwine), it’s very nice anyway, clear copper coloured beer with an off white head which quickly dissipates, aroma is sweet vanilla, scotch whiskey, cognac, banana candy, tastes gorgeous, brown bread, nicely sweet, vanilla, honey, hefe-style flavours, lot of whiskey, peaty, the smokiness lingers on the finish along with a little bit of bitterness, full bodied with medium carbonation, very smooth and drinkable despite its high alcohol content, although that isn’t to say that you don’t realise it’s boozy, all in all this was a great maiden wheatwine, hopefully i can source more in the near future, fair play to rye river anyway

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
