The Press Club Stout is a solid offering from Standeaven. The beer poured a opaque black with a off-white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent carries coffee and peat. The taste borders watery espresso but is tasty nonetheless. The pallet finishes dry and even with a presence of coffee lingers gently. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation...I like my stouts a bit more creamy and not as carbonated. Overall this is a great locally made stout and South Africa is well on their was to being a craft brew hub.
