I don't know how to really rate this beer and I hope that I categorized it properly. It didn't seem like it was quite a sahti and, while it is Scandinavian rather than Scottish in origin, "Ancient Herbed Ale" seemed the best description.
It was outstanding and since I don't have style guidelines to utilize I will just say that it was golden in color and smelled strongly of juniper and other herbs. The juniper taste was very strong, but well balanced with a crisp malty flavor. The mouthfeel was light and crisp. Overall I really liked this beer. If I wasn't at a craft beer bar in Indiana offering a lot of other beers that I wanted to try I could have easily drank this all night. I hope I see more of these ancient Viking brews pop up to compare them, but if you spot this one I highly recommend it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
