Transparent dark amber color, super smooth tan head that lays like a carpet.
Explosion of caramel aroma on opening the bottle. The darker malts reveal themselves on the pour.
Darker malts dominate on the palate singing a nice duet with the hops. The finish is long and lovely. Tho tasty, a lack of snap, or vigor is keeping this beer from going higher.
The stubby bitterness of the hops play a nice contrast with the creamy body.
I'm a sucker for interesting finishes, so i am upgrading the drinkability from what would otherwise a 3.
