River's Edge is proud to be in Southside Milford, where the Ruggles brothers first settled in 1832. The original public square and downtown businesses were actually located south of the Huron River, and we dedicate this beer to Milford's Old Town! The very first pilsner was brewed in it's namesake town of Plzen (now in the Czech Republic) in 1842, just a few years after the Milford area was first settled. Our take on this classic style uses traditional pilsner malt and Saaz hops for a floral, spicy flavor with a firm bitterness, and a cracker-crust finish that is refreshingly crisp from the extended lagering.
