Beautiful ruby red color, decent head.
Brief metallic twang followed by a slightly sweetish (not "sugar sweet", but more hmm, "corn sweet"?), and slightly sour, but otherwise kind of generic beer taste, with a somewhat bitter hop after taste (there's not much hop presence except for the bitterness).
I'm not really sure what an Irish Red Ale is supposed to taste like, but this is a very undistinguished beer, and really doesn't taste all that different from typical Japanese lagers, other than the slight touch of sourness and somewhat stronger (but not strikingly so) hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel is decent, it goes down pretty easy.
It's not _bad_, and it's drinkable enough, but kind of dissapointing for a special-release brew by a brewery that sometimes does much better.
