The beer had a mild hint of jalapeƱo smell with the same tast but to my well seasoned spice pallet none of the heat of the pepper. A touch of an IPA style finish. Not a must have but will do in a pinch.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip like glass.

Creamy small topped white head, with a little bit of retention and staying power and off white in color. Body manages a fairly clear but watery looking golden orange, slightly cloudy just a little bit.

Aroma is quite balanced for a chili brew. Sweet caramel with good and obvious controlled green hot pepper aromas. The pepper does dominate, but is not overboard and a there's a faint malt sweetness just buried in the back.

Palate takes a bit of use to do a bit of wet body character. Washes a little too fast, but manages some decent flavors. Mid palate of green fresh pepper, good amount of heat but not intolerable in the slightest. Slight dry crackery malt aftertaste but the pepper does stick around, and dryness sort of creates a hint of mild chalky kind of flavor.

A decent and memorable chili beer, but would be a just a little bit much to drink with out food.

On tap at brewery (revisit 5/2016 at brewery):
This beer pours cloudy copper, which seems a bit off for th style in my mind. There is a decent thin head that lasts (pour was to top); lacing is nice.
Revisit: little more hazy than cloudy, so up a notch

The nose I waffled on 3.75-4. A nice pepper nose with a hint of heat to let you know it's jalepenos in the mix. Otherwise there's a light biscuit sweetness behind the vegetal scents. Is the nice pepper scent enough?

The taste is a nice pale ale beginning. Without the pepper flavors I think it would be a decent beer. Light bitterness (almost ESB LIKE, so British hops?) happens early. The pepper comes early mid taste, but is almost muted. There is really only the lightest bite to it. As with many beers, the flavor comes out more with warmth.
Revisit: really close to no bite, but a really nice presence to the guest pepper, almost like it was completely deveined. Some might think too peppery, but I feel it adds a vegetal bitterness as the balance in this APA.

The feel is maybe a bit more full than other chile beers I've had, but that is welcome to me. As stated before I thin the backbone of the beer is nice. The bite of jalepeno seemed to be accented by some carbonation, but overall the beer is about right on that front.
Revisit: still nice, but at this point want a little more bite.

This is far from a Habanero Sculpin. It's a decent base beer accented with jalepeno. The bite is quite lite, almost to the point it could go into a vegetable beer. Regardless, I enjoyed it well enough.
